After the publication of the Agricultural News Regarding the estimated R$15T 25 million loss suffered by at least 30 rural producers due to the default by cereal company Result, based in Mato Grosso do Sul, the company decided to speak out. Through its legal representative, it announced that it is seeking agreements to settle the debts with producers in the state.

Lawyer Lécio Gavinha Lopes Júnior, who represents Result Armazéns Gerais, confirmed to the website Campo Grande News that the company is the target of lawsuits filed by five business owners with properties in Nova Andradina. According to him, the company seeks to negotiate directly with the producers to resolve the disputes.

"Result only owes money to five producers, who haven't received any payments from previous sales contracts. We have no outstanding debts with banks, and no labor or tax lawsuits. Our units are open, but they are not operating due to these lawsuits against the company," Gavinha stated.

The legal representative also argued that, since Result's arrival in Mato Grosso do Sul, the company has been paying debts of producers who had been harmed by a local cooperative, whose assets were acquired by the cereal company along with the financial obligations.

"Result arrived in Nova Andradina in 2009 and purchased Coopergrãos (Regional Agricultural Cooperative of Grain Producers), which had unpayable debt. We assumed all of the cooperative's debts to acquire the property," he stated.

According to the lawyer, current debts are being negotiated with rural producers who claim not to have received the amounts stipulated in the contract.

"We are open to renegotiation. We reached out to producers and made in-person visits to their offices to negotiate prices," said the legal representative of Result Armazéns Gerais.

Notícias Agrícolas has already contacted the company's lawyer to understand how the company is seeking to reach an agreement with rural producers, but is still awaiting a response from the representative.
