Bovine Genetic Improvement Program serves all regions of Goiás

The Cattle Genetic Improvement Program for Family Farming, launched by the Government of Goiás through the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (Seapa) with support from Emater Goiás, is open to family dairy farmers from all regions of Goiás. The initiative is part of the Goiás Social program and includes applications from producers located throughout the state.

With an investment of R$1.5 billion from the Protege Fund, the program will select 450 family farmers who produce milk, offering technical training and access to Fixed Time Artificial Insemination (IATF) technology, which improves reproductive rates and increases productivity, quality, and profitability of the product.

Although municipalities in the state's dairy basin are prioritized, producers from other locations can participate, provided they meet the call's criteria. According to Seapa's director, Pedro Leonardo Rezende, the statewide scope reinforces the Goiás State Government's commitment to promoting productive inclusion in the countryside. "The program will bring innovation and technology so that small dairy producers can modernize their herds and increase their income," he stated.
