Heavy rains recorded in southern Brazil last week, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, and frost in areas of the center-south of the country left wheat producers on alert, according to surveys by Cepea.
According to the Research Center, on the one hand, the colder climate favors the development of crops, but the heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul hampered field work and even resulted in losses in some crops, which will need to be replanted.
Data from Conab indicate that, as of June 21, 56.6% of the estimated area had been sown in Brazil.
The Company also announced the start of sowing in Santa Catarina and the harvest of the 2025 crop in Goiás.
