Embrapa Soja holds seminar on challenges and Brazilian leadership in the global market

Embrapa Soja will host the 7th edition of the Seminar "Challenges of Brazilian Leadership in the Global Soybean Market" in Londrina, Paraná, on August 19 and 20. The exclusively in-person event, with free registration, is expected to bring together approximately 180 participants, including researchers, technicians, government representatives, industry representatives, and rural producers to discuss factors that influence the competitiveness of the production chain.

The opening, on Tuesday (19), at 2 pm, will feature a conference by the general head of Embrapa Soja, Alexandre Nepomuceno, on the evolution of Brazilian soybean farming over the last 50 years, addressing productivity gains, obstacles overcome and future perspectives.

Next, the panel "Evolution of Brazilian Soybean Farming: Challenges and Regional Realities" will feature Décio Gazzoni (Embrapa Soja), Fabrício Morais Rosa (Aprosoja Brasil), and Robson Mafioletti (Sistema Ocepar), moderated by André Debastiani (Agroconsult). The discussion will cover everything from regional variations in productivity to the role of cooperatives in the sector.

Wednesday's (20) program, from 8 am to 12 pm, will focus on the international market, especially China, the main destination for Brazilian soybeans. The panel "China Market: Technical, Regulatory and Commercial Challenges" will discuss phytosanitary barriers, quality criteria and regulatory aspects for the export of genetically modified soybeans, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture (Mapa), Abiove and CropLife.

Also in the morning, the panel "Soybean Geopolitics: Strategies, Dependence, and Global Protagonism" will analyze China's centrality and the role of Brazilian soybeans in the European Union's environmental agenda. The lectures will be given by Larissa Wachholz (Cebri) and Marina Isadora Barbosa Souza (CNA), moderated by Guilherme Antonio da Costa Junior (Mapa).

The seminar is being held by Embrapa Soja in partnership with Abiove, Acebra, Anec, Aprosoja MS, Aprosoja PR, ASCB, CNA, OCB, and Sindirações. Registration is free and can be completed online by clicking here, with limited vacancies.
