Soybean exports hit record high, but high stocks put pressure on domestic market

Even with the predicted record in Brazilian soybean exports, the carryover stock for the 2024/25 harvest is estimated by Conab at 3.9 million tons, more than four times higher than the final volume of the previous season.

This scenario limited the upward movement in national prices last week, according to Cepea surveys.

Brazilian shipments (from October/24 to September/25) remain forecast by the USDA at 102.1 million tons and crushing at 57 million tons.

Conab, in turn, projects national exports at 106.3 million tons and crushing at 57.09 million tons in this harvest (from January to December/25), both records.

In addition to shipments, Brazil continues to lead soybean production in the world, with almost 170 million tons harvested this season (2024/25), with 169 million tons estimated by the USDA and 169.66 million tons projected by Conab.
