Beef exports rise in August and could surpass record

The lower liquidity typical of the second half of the month has been putting pressure on beef prices in the domestic market, according to Cepea surveys.

The business of animals for slaughter, in turn, remains predominantly stable, with some new increases, in most regions monitored by the Research Center.

As for Brazilian beef exports, in the first half of August, sales remained strong, even with the tariff barrier imposed by the United States.

The daily average of fresh meat shipments was 12.3 thousand tons, an increase of almost 25% over the average for August last year and 2.5% above that of July, the month of record exports.

If they continue at this pace, August shipments should reach a new all-time high, according to Cepea researchers.
