The purchasing power of S\u00e3o Paulo poultry farmers compared to corn fell in February, according to surveys by Cepea.<\/p>\n

According to the Research Center, this is due to the strong appreciation of the input in the domestic market combined with the weakening of live chicken prices.<\/p>\n

The Esalq\/BM&FBovespa Corn Indicator (Campinas \u2013 SP) averaged R$ 80.76\/60 kg bag in February, an increase of 8.9% compared to January. In addition to the greater presence of buyers in the spot market, logistical difficulties and low domestic stocks explain the increases in cereal prices.<\/p>\n

In the chicken market, Cepea collaborators reported a weakening in demand for batches of animals in some periods of the month, which put pressure on prices in the monthly balance.<\/p>\n

On average in the regions of S\u00e3o Paulo, chicken was traded at R$ 5.37\/kg in February, a drop of 2.4% compared to January.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
