A Cepea survey shows that S\u00e3o Paulo pig farmers are experiencing the most favorable moment in over 20 years when it comes to purchasing soybean meal, which is one of the main inputs used in the activity.<\/p>\n
Data from Cepea show that, with the sale of one kilo of live pig in the Campinas region (SP), the producer was able to buy 5.57 kilos of bran in September, the largest amount recorded by the Research Center since December 2004, when the exchange rate reached a record of 6.49 kilos.<\/p>\n
It is also worth noting that the current purchasing power is 54% above the average of the Cepea historical series, which began in January 2024, which is 3.62 kilos.<\/p>\n
In addition to firmer live pig sales prices \u2013 the average price of the animal in September, R$ 9.25\/kg, was the highest in 2025 \u2013 this favorable scenario for pig farmers is influenced by the recent sharp devaluations of soybean meal.<\/p>\n
Surveys by the Cepea Grain Team show that the ton of the derivative traded in the Campinas region registered an average of R$ 1,660.53 in September, 21.7% below that recorded in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
