MOSCOW, April 2 (Reuters) - Russia, the world's second-largest oil exporter, imposed restrictions on another major oil export route on Wednesday, suspending a docking at the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk, just a day after restricting shipments from a key Caspian Sea pipeline.<\/p>\n
Russia produces about 9 million barrels of oil a day, or just under a tenth of global output. Its ports also transport oil from neighboring Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n
Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft (TRNF_p.MM) said it suspended a docking at the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk for 90 days following a snap inspection by a transport watchdog.<\/p>\n
\nNovorossiisk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) is one of Russia\u2019s largest export markets and the closure of a berth is unlikely to significantly affect its operations.<\/p>\n
\u201cA temporary ban on operations has been imposed at crude loading berth 8. The NCSP has been ordered to eliminate all identified violations by June 30, 2025,\u201d Transneft said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Industry sources said Berth 8 of the Sheskharis terminal handles low-sulphur diesel tankers with a deadweight of around 7,000 metric tons, mainly carrying exports to Turkey and Georgia.<\/p>\n
Data from LSEG and industry sources showed the dock handled around 100,000 tonnes of diesel between January and March.<\/p>\n
Two of three moorings at a nearby Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal, in which U.S. oil majors Chevron (CVX.N) and Exxon Mobil (XOM.N) hold stakes, were shut on Monday.<\/p>\n
US President Donald Trump said he was unhappy with Russia and the pace of progress in peace talks with Ukraine, and threatened to impose secondary tariffs on buyers of Russian oil.<\/p>\n
