The start of the coffee harvest in recent days is highlighted in the Subjective Harvest Forecast (PSS) released on Thursday (24) by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab). The grain advanced in 3% of the planted area.<\/p>\n
The expectation is to harvest 42 thousand tons from the 25.5 thousand hectare coffee area, which is currently in good condition at 93%, but which raises concerns due to the recent heat waves and low rainfall volumes.<\/p>\n

Deral agronomist Hugo Godinho highlights the importance of the start of the coffee harvest at this time. \u201cThe coffee harvest is eagerly awaited by producers this year, due to the good prices practiced in the market,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
According to Hugo, prices have fallen, but remain high compared to last year. \u201cCoffee is at R$2,350 per bag, below the average recorded in recent months, but still above the prices practiced in April last year,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
The document indicates that the first grain harvest in Paran\u00e1 is practically finished, with soybeans harvested at 100% and corn at 98%, making room for the start of the harvest of the second bean harvest.<\/p>\n
Bean<\/h4>\n
The planted area of the second bean crop decreased by 24% compared to the previous year and is at 332.6 thousand hectares with an estimated production of 570.3 thousand tons.<\/p>\n
With 9% of crops harvested, the crop presents problems in its productivity, which is 7% below potential.<\/p>\n

Deral revised the area of the second harvest of the crop. The decrease in the area planted with wheat gave way to an increase in the area of corn, which is already 100% planted and is now estimated at 2.71 million hectares, 6.9% higher than the previous harvest and the second largest in history in relation to the area.<\/p>\n
The expected production is 16.2 million tons, a scenario that may change due to climate challenges, especially in the North of the State.<\/p>\n
The report indicates that around 40% of crop conditions are not favorable and there is a record of irreversible losses of 1.5%, or 240 thousand tons.<\/p>\n
