This Saturday (21), region 1, which is composed of the South, East, Campos Gerais and Coast of Paran\u00e1, completes the schedule established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) of the soybean sanitary gap in the State. The other regions of Paran\u00e1 have already entered the period at the beginning of the month.<\/p>\n

The measure, which will last until September 19 in the region, is a way to reduce the proliferation of the fungus Phakopsora pachyrhizi, which causes Asian rust, the most severe disease in soybean crops, which can cause losses of up to 90% in productivity if not controlled.<\/p>\n

During the sanitary break, it is not permitted to cultivate or maintain live soybean plants in the field, so that they do not become hosts for the fungus and a source of multiplication of the disease in the grain cycle.<\/p>\n

In Paran\u00e1, the sanitary break periods were divided into three stages, according to the state's different microclimates. The definition was made by Mapa, with the aim of establishing the most suitable periods for planting and reducing the spread of the fungus.<\/p>\n

The Paran\u00e1 Agricultural Defense Agency (ADAPAR), linked to the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, is responsible for inspections throughout the state of Paran\u00e1, and must apply the penalties provided for in the legislation to producers who fail to eradicate live soybean plants during the sanitary vacuum period. The agency is also responsible for monitoring and enforcing the dates for the planting window for the crop in the state.<\/p>\n

The Adapar Plant Health Department (DESV) emphasizes that it is important for all farmers to adopt this precaution on their properties. The agency emphasizes that the sanitary measure will only be effective with the monitoring of all locations that may contain live soybean plants and the immediate elimination if any are detected.<\/p>\n

Ordinance No. 1,271, of April 30, 2025, of the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Defense Secretariat, establishes the rules for the soybean health gap.<\/p>\n

In Region 1, which covers the municipalities of the South, East, Campos Gerais and Coast of Paran\u00e1, the sanitary break begins on June 21 and continues until September 19. Planting can be carried out from September 20, 2025 until January 20, 2026.<\/p>\n

Region 2, which covers the North, Northwest, Central-West and West of Paran\u00e1, began on June 2 and continues until August 31, with sowing starting on September 1 and ending on December 31.<\/p>\n

In Region 3, which includes the municipalities in the southwest of the state, the sanitary break began on June 12 and ends on September 10. Sowing is authorized between September 11 and January 10, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
