The completion of the Lu\u00eds Alves Bridge, which connects Goi\u00e1s and Mato Grosso over the Araguaia River, and the paving of sections of the BR-158\/MT highway are among the Federal Government's priorities to improve agribusiness logistics in the Araguaia region. The works should reduce transportation costs, expand regional connectivity and strengthen the flow of agricultural production, especially grains such as soybeans, corn and cotton.<\/p>\n

The progress of these works was the subject of a meeting held last Tuesday (17), in Bras\u00edlia, between the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos F\u00e1varo, and the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport and was also attended by parliamentarians from both regions.<\/p>\n

F\u00e1varo highlighted the importance of the bridge as a key piece for the region\u2019s infrastructure. \u201cThe construction of the Lu\u00eds Alves bridge is essential for the logistics of the Araguaia region. We have received good news, such as the progress of the paving of BR-158, the release of the licensing of BR-242 and now the progress on BR-080. Finally, logistics are reaching the state of Mato Grosso efficiently,\u201d said the minister.<\/p>\n

Renan Filho, in turn, emphasized that the project is among the country's main integration projects. "This bridge will enable an important logistics corridor for agriculture, reducing transportation costs, improving regional connectivity and increasing the competitiveness of the production sector. It is included in the New PAC and represents a commitment by the Federal Government to the country's development," he declared.<\/p>\n
