Portos do Paran\u00e1 increased its share in Brazilian exports of frozen animal protein, reaching 35.1% of the national total in the first five months of 2025. With this performance, the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 maintains the title of largest meat export corridor in Brazil.<\/p>\n

Between January and May, 1,280,167 tons were shipped to countries such as China, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, among others. The volume represents a growth of 9.9% compared to the same period last year, considering shipments of chicken, beef and pork.<\/p>\n

Brazil is the world's largest exporter of chicken meat, with Paran\u00e1 standing out as the leader in production. The Port of Paranagu\u00e1 is home to the largest export terminal for frozen poultry on the planet, responsible for 44.1% of all national production sent abroad \u2014 more than double the share of the Port of Santos, which registered 20.9%. In 2024, Paranagu\u00e1 accounted for 48% of Brazilian poultry exports.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese results are the result of an administration dedicated to the intelligent execution of operations and consistent logistical investments. This work was built with the support of the entire port community. Increasing the depth of our channel, for example, allows us to ship more cargo without increasing operating costs for those who export,\u201d highlighted the CEO of Portos do Paran\u00e1, Luiz Fernando Garcia.<\/p>\n

From January to May this year, shipments of frozen poultry increased by 2.5%, even in the face of restrictions imposed by some countries due to an isolated case of bird flu in Rio Grande do Sul. 923,477 tons were moved, compared to 900,909 tons recorded in the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n

Beef<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Paranagu\u00e1 also stands out in beef exports, with the second largest movement among Brazilian terminals. Up to May, there was a significant growth of 50.9% compared to the previous year, going from 183,570 tons to 276,969 tons. \u201cWe are the main exit point for chicken, beef and pork from Brazil. This proves the efficiency of the ports of Paran\u00e1\u201d, stated the director of Port Operations, Gabriel Vieira. \u201cWe have the structure for various types of cargo, and these numbers demonstrate our role as a multipurpose logistics corridor. Whatever Paran\u00e1 and Brazil produce, we have the capacity to export\u201d.<\/p>\n

Production that drives<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Paran\u00e1 leads the national production of animal protein, with emphasis on chicken meat, accounting for 34.6% of Brazilian production in the period from January to March 2025, according to data from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). Regarding pork, the state occupies the second position, with 21.9% of the national total, in the same period.<\/p>\n

In cattle farming, although with a smaller share, Paran\u00e1 showed growth in the first quarter: 354 thousand heads were slaughtered between January and March, an increase of 14.2 thousand compared to the same period in 2024 \u2014 equivalent to 3.6% of national production.<\/p>\n

According to the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, in 2024 Paran\u00e1 slaughtered more than 2.2 billion heads of chicken, 12.4 million heads of pigs, almost 629 thousand cattle and produced more than 180 thousand tons of fish.<\/p>\n

This production capacity drives the industrial chain intensively. The state has one of the largest structures in the country dedicated to slaughtering and processing meat, with 557 companies operating in the sector. \u201cThis entire production complex requires efficient maritime logistics equipment that guarantees delivery with the greatest possible precision,\u201d concludes the CEO of Portos do Paran\u00e1, Luiz Fernando Garcia.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
