The 13th edition of the Official Opening of the Corn Harvest in Rio Grande do Sul has already been confirmed: it will be held in the second half of January 2026, in the municipality of S\u00e3o Borja, on the western border of the state. The decision was confirmed during an in-person meeting of the Working Group (GT) of the Sector Chamber of the Corn Production Chain, linked to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi).<\/p>\n
The city's selection as the event's host city was coordinated by local and state entities. Representing Seapi were Santa Rosa's regional coordinator, Airton Beutinger, and Valdomiro Haas, advisor to the Corn Sector Chamber. Also in attendance were S\u00e3o Borja's mayor, Jos\u00e9 Luiz Machado, and representatives from several regional institutions.<\/p>\n
Negotiations for the harvest opening began in April of this year, according to Haas, and were intensified with a meeting held at the S\u00e3o Borja Commercial, Industrial, Service and Agricultural Association (ACISB). "We expanded the working group with the addition of the city government and new partners, which strengthens the event's organization," the advisor noted.<\/p>\n
The official opening of the harvest will take place at Andrei Sallet's rural property, visited by the delegation during the technical agenda in the region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
