Amid a global climate of political uncertainty, Brazilian livestock continues to break down barriers and conquer markets. During the opening of the 18th ExpoGen\u00e9tica in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Gabriel Garcia Cid, president of the Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association (ABCZ), presented figures that reinforce the country's competitiveness in the sector.<\/p>\n

According to Cid, July saw a new record for beef exports, with more than 310,000 tons shipped and revenue exceeding R$1.5 billion. "Nothing, and no one, can hold back our extraordinary capacity to produce food, because it is our natural calling," he stated, emphasizing that new markets continue to open up for Brazilian products.<\/p>\n
The leader also emphasized that Brazil's foot-and-mouth disease-free status without vaccination is the result of decades of collaborative work with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA). He made a point of recalling the contributions of former ministers such as Pratini de Moraes, Ant\u00f4nio Cabrera, Roberto Rodrigues, Tereza Cristina, Marcos Montes, and Alysson Paolinelli, as well as the efforts of the current administration.<\/p>\n
Another point emphasized was the progress of the Zebu Genetic Improvement Program (PMGZ), which has just received international ISO 9001 certification, a first for cattle genetic improvement programs in Brazil. "This recognition reinforces the credibility of our work," Cid noted.<\/p>\n

The results of the improvement, he added, are already visible in the industry: an increase in average carcass weight, a reduction in slaughter age, and an increase in the volume of quality meat by 137%, with less use of pasture. "This shows that producers are doing their homework, producing more sustainably," he assessed.<\/p>\n
The 18th ExpoGen\u00e9tica, considered the largest showcase of evaluated zebu cattle in the country, continues until the end of the week with a busy schedule: 27 auctions, nine animal shopping malls, and more than 30 technical lectures. The debates cover everything from new market perspectives to analyses of the economic landscape, reinforcing the fair's role as a business and knowledge-generating space for an increasingly competitive livestock industry on the global stage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
