The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) issued two storm warnings with a potential danger severity level that will affect different regions of the country between August 20 and 22. The warnings include areas of Rio Grande do Sul, Paran\u00e1, S\u00e3o Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul, with forecasts of heavy rain, strong winds and a risk of hail.<\/p>\n
The first warning is valid from 10 am on Wednesday (20) until 10 am on Thursday (21) and covers a large area of the Southern and Southeastern states, as well as the Central-West. Among the areas listed are the regions of Curitiba, Campinas, Ribeir\u00e3o Preto, Presidente Prudente, S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 do Rio Preto, Piracicaba, Mar\u00edlia and Greater S\u00e3o Paulo, in S\u00e3o Paulo; Northern Pioneer, Northwest, North Central, Western Center, Eastern Center and Southeast of Paran\u00e1; as well as regions of Mato Grosso do Sul, such as the Pantanais, Southwest, North-Central, South-Central and Southeast of the state.
\nAccording to INMET, there's a chance of rainfall between 20 and 30 mm\/h or up to 50 mm\/day, accompanied by winds of 40 to 60 km\/h and hail. The institute also warns of a low risk of power outages, crop damage, falling tree branches, and flooding.<\/p>\n
The second warning issued by Inmet begins on Thursday night (21), at 9 pm, and continues until 11:59 pm on Friday (22), covering Rio Grande do Sul. The affected areas include the Southwest, Southeast, Northwest and Western Center of the state. The expected conditions are similar: heavy rain, gusts of wind and a chance of hail.<\/p>\n
Inmet recommends that the public monitor weather updates and take precautionary measures, such as avoiding shelter under trees during gusts of wind, not parking vehicles near transmission towers and signs, and paying extra attention in areas with a history of flooding.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
