The Port of Paranagu\u00e1 led soybean exports throughout Brazil in August, with a volume of 2 million tons, reaching US$1.5 million FOB\u2014the price corresponding to the product's price at the point of shipment. This figure represents 21.7% of the country's total export volume in the same period.<\/p>\n
From January to August 2025, 11.3 million tons of soybeans were shipped from the Port of Paranagu\u00e1, equivalent to US$1.5 billion FOB. This amount exceeds the total exported by Paran\u00e1 producers by US$1.2 billion, according to data released last week by the Paran\u00e1 Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes).<\/p>\n
The difference lies in the fact that the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 also handles cargo from other states. "This clearly demonstrates that we are ready to serve our entire hinterland, which includes Paran\u00e1 and parts of Santa Catarina, S\u00e3o Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, and Goi\u00e1s," emphasizes Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paran\u00e1.<\/p>\n

The main destination for soybeans exported during the period was China, which accounted for more than 90% of demand. Next came Thailand (2.2%) and Iraq (1.6%).<\/p>\n
Although a third of the month was marked by rain, which paralyzed operations, the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 handled 7 million tons in August, the highest amount recorded for the month in the historical average.<\/p>\n
According to Port Operations Director Gabriel Vieira, even with the increase in grain shipments, vessels are not waiting in line to dock. "Our export corridor doesn't face a single day of queues beyond what is necessary for clearance and docking procedures," he emphasizes.<\/p>\n
Leadership in the export of animal protein<\/strong><\/h4>\nAnother notable commodity throughout the month was frozen chicken, with 185,500 tons moved, representing 49.61 metric tons of domestic exports\u2014practically half of all Brazilian exports. The main export origins are the states of Paran\u00e1 and part of Santa Catarina.<\/p>\n
In 2025, 1.7 million tons of chicken were exported through Paranagu\u00e1. This represents 44.41 TP4T of all domestic exports, solidifying the port as the world's largest chicken export corridor. In FOB terms, the product was shipped abroad worth over US$1 TP5T 2.4 billion.<\/p>\n

Exports registered through the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 represent 29.11 TP4T of national movement, the second-largest volume in Brazil, with 4.5 million tons shipped in 2025.
