The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued, this Tuesday (23), two alerts that affect several regions of the country, with emphasis on Mato Grosso, as well as Minas Gerais, Goi\u00e1s, Acre, Amazonas, Esp\u00edrito Santo and the Federal District. Forecasts indicate heavy rains, risk of hail and intense winds until Wednesday morning (24).<\/p>\n
The first warning is for a storm, classified as potentially dangerous. It has been in effect since 9:40 a.m. this Tuesday and continues until 10 a.m. tomorrow. The forecast calls for rainfall of 20 to 30 mm\/h or up to 50 mm\/day, wind gusts between 40 and 60 km\/h, and the possibility of hail. Inmet also warns of the risk of flooding, power outages, falling tree branches, and crop damage.<\/p>\n
Among the affected areas are several regions of Mato Grosso, such as the Center-South, Northeast, North and Southwest of the state, as well as municipalities in Goi\u00e1s, Minas Gerais, Esp\u00edrito Santo, Tocantins, Rond\u00f4nia, Acre, Amazonas, Par\u00e1, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and the Federal District.<\/p>\n
The second warning is for heavy rains, with a hazardous level. It began at 9:30 a.m. this Tuesday and is valid until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. In this case, the forecast indicates rainfall of 30 to 60 mm\/h or 50 to 100 mm\/day, accompanied by winds between 60 and 100 km\/h, with the risk of flooding, lightning strikes, and power outages.<\/p>\n
This warning mainly affects areas of Amazonas and Acre, including the Juru\u00e1 Valley and the Acre Valley.<\/p>\n
INMET advises the public to avoid going out during bad weather, seek safe places, and not take shelter under trees or power lines. In case of emergency, it is recommended to contact Civil Defense and the Fire Department.\u00a0
