With an increasingly challenging foreign trade scenario, Paran\u00e1 has managed to expand sales to other markets, consolidating its position as the country's 5th largest exporter. From January to September of this year, exports totaled US$17.7 billion, with a surplus of US$15.6 billion compared to imports of US$15.6 billion. The data comes from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC) and was compiled by the Paran\u00e1 Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes).<\/p>\n

Paran\u00e1 is the 5th largest exporter in the country and the first in the South, behind only S\u00e3o Paulo (US$$ 52.4 billion), Rio de Janeiro (US$$ 33.6 billion), Minas Gerais (US$$ 33 billion) and Mato Grosso (US$$ 22.5 billion). Par\u00e1 (US$$ 17.6 billion), Rio Grande do Sul (US$$ 15.4 billion), Goi\u00e1s (US$$ 10.4 billion), Santa Catarina (US$$ 9 billion) and Bahia (US$$ 8.3 billion) also stood out. The other states together accounted for US$$ 37.8 billion.<\/p>\n

Paran\u00e1's exports have been undergoing a process of deconcentration from international markets. From January to September of this year, Paran\u00e1 products reached 209 international markets. Argentina, India, Iran, and Singapore, for example, experienced strong growth.<\/p>\n

Neighboring Argentina, for example, practically doubled its share of imports of products from Paran\u00e1, rising from 4.3% in the first nine months of 2024 to 8.2% in the same period this year. This was the largest increase recorded by a trading partner, with 86.4%. Automobile exports grew by 2,53%, reaching US$$ 367.7 million in 2025, compared to US$$ 112.7 million last year.<\/p>\n

India's share of Paran\u00e1's trade balance increased from 1.8% to 2.7% between January and September of the same year, representing a 48.5% increase. Crude soybean oil drove this increase, with US$1.5T338.8 million and a 71.6% share of exports. Various organic chemicals and metallurgical products also made significant contributions, with 37.4% and 24.9% increases, respectively.<\/p>\n

Iran was responsible for 2.5% of Paran\u00e1's sales to the world in 2025, with a variation of 15.8% in relation to the 2.1% in the same period of 2024. US$$ 434.7 million were purchased by the Asian country, with emphasis on cereals, with US$$ 269.8 million and a variation of 476.6% in relation to US$$ 46.7 million last year.<\/p>\n

Singapore went from 1.3% to 1.9% of participation, with oils and fuels being the product most traded by Paran\u00e1 to the country, with US$ 222.6 million from January to September this year, an increase of 101.6% compared to US$ 110.4 million in the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n

"The state has been undergoing a significant process of deconcentration of goods and destinations, expanding exports to markets such as Argentina, India, Iran, and Singapore, demonstrating once again that Paran\u00e1's industry is modernizing, adding greater value to its products, as well as its agricultural production," highlighted Ipardes CEO Jorge Callado.<\/p>\n

This deconcentration of exports reflects the current situation facing the world's two largest economies. China, a major importer of soybeans and soybean derivatives, accounted for 23.71 TP4T of Paran\u00e1's total exports in the first nine months of 2025, compared to a share of 28.51 TP4T in the same period in 2024, a reduction of 4.8 percentage points. This decrease is a consequence of China's decision to reduce the share of soybean meal used as animal feed.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the United States, which previously recorded a share of 6.4% from January to September 2024, saw that figure drop to 5.6% in the same period this year. This decline is due to the tariffs imposed on Brazilian products by the US government, which primarily impacted the timber and coffee supply chains.<\/p>\n

Products<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Soybeans remain Paran\u00e1's main export product worldwide, accounting for US$1.91 trillion of the state's trade balance. Exports totaled US$1.5 trillion in the first nine months of 2025.<\/p>\n

Next comes fresh chicken meat, accounting for 14.8% of Paran\u00e1's exports, with US$$ 2.6 billion sold; soybean meal, with 5.4% and US$$ 953.2 million; raw sugar, with 4.7% and US$$ 830.7 million; automobiles, with 3.7% and US$$ 649.7 million; paper and cereals, both with a 3.5% share and US$$ 618.5 million and US$$ 616.8 million sold, respectively.<\/p>\n

Trade balance<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The trade balance was favorable for the state. From January to September 2025, exports totaled US$17.7 billion, compared to US$15.6 billion in imports, resulting in a positive balance of US$15.2 billion. "Paran\u00e1 continues to post positive foreign trade figures. Of the US$17.7 billion, US$10.5 billion is in food," Callado added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
