According to research conducted by the National Supply Company (Conab), the first estimate indicates a total production of 354.7 million tons of grains for the new harvest, a volume 0.8% higher than that obtained in 2024/25, and an increase in the area to be sown of 3.3% compared to the previous cycle, estimated at 84.4 million hectares in the 2025/26 season.

In this new cycle, there is an expectation of a 3.6% growth in the area sown for soybeans compared to 2024/25, estimated at 49.1 million hectares. With this, Conab estimates a harvest of 177.6 million tons in the 2025/26 crop year, compared to the 171.5 million tons harvest of the previous season. The rainfall that occurred in September in the states of the Center-South of the country allowed the start of planting with 11.1% of the area already sown, a slightly higher rate than that recorded up to the same point in the previous cycle. In the largest soybean-producing states in the country, Mato Grosso and Paraná, in the first 10 days of October, registered 18.9% and 31%, respectively, of the area sown.

<img fetchpriority="high" data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="191686" data-permalink="https://opresenterural.com.br/soja-perde-folego-no-fim-de-agosto-com-menor-demanda-externa/harvestingofsoybeanfieldwithcombine-7/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/opresenterural.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/shutterstock_550409548.jpg?fit=1400%2C923&ssl=1" data-orig-size="1400,923" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta='{"aperture":"0","credit":"Shutterstock","camera":"","caption":"Harvesting of soybean field with combine","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"Copyright (c) 2017 Fotokostic/Shutterstock. In the first corn harvest alone, the company forecasts an increase in planted area of around 6.11 TP4T, with an estimated harvest of 25.6 million tons, a growth of 2.81 TP4T compared to the previous harvest. In Rio Grande do Sul, where planting begins at the end of August, 831 TP4T of the area had already been planted by October 11th, 841 TP4T in Paraná, and 721 TP4T in Santa Catarina. In the Central-West and other states, planting has not yet begun.

For rice, the first estimate for the 2025/26 cycle indicates a reduction of 5.61 TP4T in the area to be sown, projected at 1.66 million hectares. In irrigated areas, the decrease is projected at 3.71 TP4T, and in rainfed areas, the decrease could reach 12.51 TP4T. With the smaller area allocated to the crop, rice production could reach 11.5 million tons. In the Southern region, the main producer of the grain, farmers are intensifying soil preparation and planting efforts.

In the case of beans, being a short-cycle crop, the trend is for the 2025/26 harvest to remain relatively stable. Adding the three harvests of the legume, production is estimated at 3 million tons. The area for the first bean harvest is expected to decrease by 7.51 TP4T compared to the first cycle of the 2024/25 season, totaling a planting forecast of 840,400 hectares. Sowing has begun in the Southeast region of the country, with 1001 TP4T of the area sown in São Paulo, and is underway in the other states of the region. In Bahia, the third largest producer of the legume, and in the other states, planting has not yet begun.

Winter crops

With approximately 40% of wheat crops harvested, the forecast points to a 2025 production of 7.7 million tons, 2.4% below the 2024 harvest. The main product among winter crops, the projected reduction in the harvest is mainly due to a 19.9% decrease in the cultivated area, driven by less favorable growing conditions at the time the current crop was planted.

Market

<img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="190146" data-permalink="https://opresenterural.com.br/safra-2024-25-bate-recorde-e-deve-alcancar-3452-milhoes-de-toneladas/tractorcultivatingfieldkickinguprocksanddustinthe-4/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/opresenterural.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/shutterstock_1230421564.jpg?fit=1400%2C1049&ssl=1" data-orig-size="1400,1049" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta='{"aperture":"0","credit":"Shutterstock","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"Copyright (c) 2018 Shutterstock. While shipments of the grain from the 2024/25 cycle are estimated at 40 million tons, Conab forecasts sales of 46.5 million tons for the new season. An increase in domestic consumption is also expected, rising from 90.5 million to 94.5 million tons, driven mainly by higher demand for corn for ethanol production. Even so, it is estimated that carryover stocks at the end of the 2025/26 harvest will remain relatively stable.

For soybeans, the projected reduction in US exports and increased global demand, coupled with the expansion of Brazilian production, suggest growth in Brazilian exports. Thus, the country should once again remain the world's largest exporter of the oilseed, potentially exceeding 112.11 million tons exported. Furthermore, the projected increase in the biodiesel blend in diesel and the growing demand for vegetable protein indicate that the volume of soybean crushing could reach 59.56 million tons in 2026.

In the case of rice, even with the reduction in planted area, there is an expectation of maintaining a good supply of the grain in the domestic market. Given this scenario, the country should increase the volume of rice exports, reaching 2.1 million tons in the 2025/26 crop year, compared to an estimated shipment of 1.6 million tons in the 2024/25 crop year. Imports and domestic consumption are expected to remain stable, at around 1.4 million tons and 11 million tons respectively. Therefore, for the 2025/26 crop year, a slight reduction of 11.41 TP4T is expected in carryover stocks, estimated at 1.82 million tons in February 2027, although still at a high level.

Full information regarding the 1st Grain Crop Survey 2025/26 and market conditions for these products can be found at [link/reference]. Conab Portal.

THE Bela Cereais works with the best grains on the market and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

O primeiro levantamento para a safra de grãos 2025/26 indica mais um ciclo de crescimento…

[258

post-25938","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-safra
["GET
