The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) released its new projection for the supply and demand balance of the soybean complex in 2026, presenting record numbers. Soybean production is estimated at 178.5 million tons, while crushing is expected to reach 60.5 million tons. Soybean meal is projected to reach 46.6 million tons, and soybean oil 12.1 million tons.<\/p>\n

In the field of exports, projections point to new historical levels, with expectations of 111 million tons of grains exported. Soybean meal is expected to register exports of 24.6 million tons, while soybean oil is projected at around 1 million tons, a decrease from 25.9%.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, a slight increase in soybean oil imports is expected, reaching 125,000 tons, while soybean imports should total 500,000 tons to supplement the domestic market. \u201cThese figures reflect the strength and efficiency of the Brazilian soybean chain, which continues to expand its competitiveness and add value in the domestic market. The advancement of national processing and the good performance of exports reinforce the importance of the sector for the trade balance and for the country's development, as well as for the production of proteins and biofuels,\u201d highlights Daniel Furlan Amaral, Director of Economics and Regulatory Affairs at Abiove.<\/p>\n

Soybean Complex Updates in 2025<\/b><\/p>\n

Consolidated data up to August 2025 indicate positive results for the sector. Soybean production for the cycle was 171.8 million tons. Projected crushing was revised upwards to 58.5 million tons.<\/p>\n

Soybean meal production is expected to keep pace with crushing and remain stable, totaling 45.1 million tons, while soybean oil production is expected to reach 11.7 million tons.<\/p>\n

Processing\u00a0<\/b>m<\/b>ensal<\/b><\/p>\n

In August 2025, the processed volume was 4.5 million tons, a reduction of 3.3% compared to July, but an increase of 4.2% compared to August 2024, when adjusted by the sample percentage of 90.6%.<\/p>\n

In the year to date, processing has grown by 5.81 TP4T compared to the same period in 2024, considering adjustments, reaching a total of 35.1 million tons.<\/p>\n

Exports<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

According to records from the Foreign Trade Secretariat, exports also increased in 2025, with soybean volume reaching 109.5 million tons. Soybean meal exports reached 23.6 million tons, while soybean oil reached 1.3 million tons. Soybean imports totaled 900,000 tons, reflecting the effort to meet growing demand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
