Mato Grosso consolidated its position as the largest exporter of beef to China in 2025. According to data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), between January and September, 351,300 tons of the protein were shipped to the Asian country.<\/p>\n
With this result, the state surpassed S\u00e3o Paulo \u2014 another important center of Brazilian livestock farming \u2014 which exported 343,500 tons in the same period.<\/p>\n
The performance reflects the positive moment for livestock farming in Mato Grosso. In the year to date, Mato Grosso has already exported 646,900 tons of beef to 89 countries, reaching a revenue of US$3 billion up to September, with an average value of US$5,300 per ton.<\/p>\n
By 2026, the goal is to further expand exports, both by opening new markets and consolidating existing ones, such as China itself \u2014 currently the largest buyer of Brazilian beef.<\/p>\n
With this objective, a delegation from Mato Grosso, comprised of the Mato Grosso Meat Institute (Imac), the State Secretariat for Economic Development (Sedec), and Invest MT, is in China this week to discuss expanding trade, especially with provinces in the country's interior.<\/p>\n
