Exports from Paran\u00e1 totaled US$2 billion in October 2025, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), collected by the Paran\u00e1 Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes), representing an increase of 3.53% compared to the same period in 2024, when the state's foreign sales totaled US$1.94 billion.<\/p>\n

This increase occurred even in a context of maintaining US surcharges on certain goods produced in the state, which demonstrates Paran\u00e1's ability to overcome obstacles in the international market.<\/p>\n

Exports from Paran\u00e1 increased by 189.2% to Spain, 181.7% to the Philippines, 110% to Saudi Arabia, 44.8% to Iran, and 35% to China in October. In terms of products, the largest increases were recorded for petroleum derivatives (295.9%), raw sugar (76.8%), cellulose (62.3%), cereals (55.5%), and soluble coffee (39.7%).<\/p>\n

Exports of this latter commodity showed an increase even in the face of the 50% tariff imposed by the USA, which is a major buyer of soluble coffee, which can be explained by the growing insertion into other markets. Russia led the ranking of importers of Paran\u00e1's soluble coffee in October (with purchases of around US$$ 8.52 million), surpassing the USA (US$$ 5.42 million).<\/p>\n

Overall, from January to October, Paran\u00e1 reached US$19.7 billion in exports, with leading exports in soybeans (US$4 billion), fresh chicken meat (US$2.9 billion), soybean meal (US$1 billion), and raw sugar (US$951 million). The state is the sixth largest exporter in Brazil this year.<\/p>\n

The main destinations throughout 2025 were China, with a 23.3% share, Argentina (8.2%), the USA (5.4%) and Mexico (4%). Trade with India increased by 39.2% this year (up to October), from US$358 million to US$499 million. With Argentina, the increase was 69%, from US$958 million to US$1.6 billion.<\/p>\n

According to Jorge Callado, CEO of Ipardes, the numbers prove the competence of Paran\u00e1's exporters. "There is consensus in the state regarding the importance of exports for economic growth, explaining the combined efforts to overcome the turbulent situation of international trade currently prevailing," he analyzes.<\/p>\n

Ulisses Maia, the state's Planning Secretary, emphasizes that rising exports also represent higher levels of production, which, in turn, result in job creation and income generation. "For the citizen, the favorable economic context of Paran\u00e1 is evidenced by the increase in jobs and salaries," states the Secretary.<\/p>\n

Paran\u00e1 also ends October with a trade surplus of US$2.3 billion, resulting from US$19.7 billion in exports and US$17.3 billion in imports (mostly fertilizers and auto parts).<\/p>\n
