Agricultural seed exports reached record revenue in the historical series of the last 5 years, considering the period from January to October. In 2025, they totaled US$204 million, approximately US$8 million higher than in 2023 and 2024. Corn seed exports stood out with US$87 million and forage seeds with US$64 million, corresponding to 741% of the total exported by the country. \u201cThe record in export value indicates that Brazil is, in fact, exporting more technology incorporated into seeds, especially to South American countries, the main destination of this trade flow. The country has made significant progress in genetic improvement and in the supply of high-performance materials, which is reflected in the increase in the value exported. Despite the volume expansion, there was a drop in unit prices, which explains why the total imported value grew even in a scenario of price depreciation. This movement, higher volume and lower average price, stems mainly from the greater participation of generic products in external purchases, especially pre-formulated products,\u201d explains Renato.<\/p>\n

Of the observed growth, US$800 million is from imports of formulated products, mainly herbicides and insecticides. Imports of technical products reached US$2.1 billion in the first 10 months of this year.<\/p>\n
