Cepea's collaborating agents are closely monitoring the progress of the wheat harvest in Argentina \u2013 it's worth remembering that the neighboring country is the largest supplier of the cereal to Brazil.<\/p>\n
Data released on November 27 by the Bolsa de Cereales indicates that, with 33.9% of the area harvested, Argentine production was revised upwards to 25.5 million tons.<\/p>\n
This volume exceeds the previous estimate by 1.5 million tons, and is also a new record, surpassing the previous highest volume of 22.4 million tons, registered in the 2021\/22 season. As for prices in Brazil, they fell in November.<\/p>\n
According to researchers at Cepea, in addition to the scenario of a large harvest in Argentina, the devaluation of the dollar against the Real reinforced the downward trend in wheat prices in the Brazilian market.<\/p>\n
In November, the monthly average in Rio Grande do Sul was R$ 1,044.82 tons, a decrease of 8.2% compared to October\/25, 17.1% compared to November\/24, and the lowest since February\/18 \u2013 all comparisons are in real terms (values deflated by the IGP-DI).<\/p>\n
In Paran\u00e1, the average R$ was 1,196.69 tons in November, with a monthly decrease of 1.6% and an annual decrease of 15.9%, the lowest since October 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
