The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) presented, at a press conference this Wednesday (03), updated projections for the chicken meat market in Brazil, indicating a scenario of moderate, but consistent growth, for the next two years. The data reveal an increase in production, expansion of exports and greater domestic availability, accompanied by an increase in per capita consumption.<\/p>\n

According to the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin, Brazilian production should end 2025 with up to 15.3 million tons and reach up to 15.6 million tons in 2026. The projected variations represent advances of 2.21 TP4T between 2024 and 2025 and 2.1 TP4T in the following year, consolidating the country as one of the largest global producers.<\/p>\n

Exports are also on a positive trajectory. After shipping 5.295 million tons in 2024, the sector is working towards a target of up to 5.32 million tons in 2025 and up to 5.5 million tons in 2026. "The projected growth is 0.51 TP4T, accelerating to 3.41 TP4T in 2026, reflecting strong international demand and Brazilian competitiveness," emphasizes Santin.<\/p>\n

Another indicator highlighted by ABPA is domestic availability, that is, the volume destined for the domestic market. The projection points to an increase from 9.678 million tons to up to 9.98 million in 2025 and approximately 10.1 million in 2026, variations of 3.1% and 1.2%, respectively. "This growth should directly reflect in national consumption," reinforces Santin.<\/p>\n

Per capita consumption, which reached 45.5 kg per inhabitant in 2024, could rise to 46.8 kg in 2025 and reach approximately 47.3 kg in 2026. "The growth in domestic consumption reinforces the importance of chicken meat as an accessible protein for the Brazilian consumer, especially in challenging economic scenarios," emphasizes the president of ABPA.<\/p>\n

Santin also highlighted that the numbers reflect the resilience of the production chain, which has been investing in efficiency, technology, and animal welfare to meet both domestic and international demands. "Chicken will continue to be a staple on Brazilian tables and a strategic component of agricultural exports in the coming years," he emphasized.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
