Production, exports, and consumption of chicken, pork, and eggs are projected to reach record numbers in 2025. These projections come from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) and were presented today during a press conference held in S\u00e3o Paulo (SP).<\/p>\n
According to ABPA projections, Brazilian egg production is expected to reach up to 62.250 billion units in 2025, a number 7.91 times higher than the total recorded in 2024, which was 57.683 billion units. For 2026, further expansion is expected, with up to 66.5 billion units produced, representing an increase of 6.81 times higher than the previous year.<\/p>\n
The sector's exports are expected to reach up to 40,000 tons in 2025, representing a growth of 116.6% compared to the 18,469 tons shipped in 2024. For 2026, further advances are expected, with up to 45,000 tons exported, 12.5% more than the volume forecast for this year.<\/p>\n
Per capita consumption is expected to increase from 269 units per inhabitant in 2024 to 287 units in 2025 (+6.7%) and 307 units in 2026 (+7% compared to the previous year).<\/p>\n
In the case of chicken meat, Brazilian production is expected to total 15.320 million tons in 2025, a figure up to 2.2% higher than the total of 14.972 million tons produced in 2024. For 2026, growth is expected, reaching up to 15.600 million tons, an increase of 2%.<\/p>\n
Exports are expected to grow by up to 0.5%, projecting up to 5.320 million tons exported in 2025 (compared to 5.295 million in 2024) and up to 5.500 million in 2026, a growth of 3.4% over the previous year.<\/p>\n
In the domestic market, the availability of chicken meat could reach up to 9.980 million tons in 2025, an increase of 3.1% compared to the 9.678 million tons of 2024. In 2026, the projected availability is 10.100 million tons, a number 1.2% higher than the previous year.<\/p>\n
As a result, per capita protein consumption is expected to increase from 45.5 kg per inhabitant in 2024 to 46.8 kg in 2025 (+2.8%), reaching 47.3 kg in 2026 (+1.2%).<\/p>\n
For pork, national production is estimated at up to 5.550 million tons in 2025, a growth of 4.61 TP4T compared to the volume recorded in 2024, which was 5.305 million tons. For 2026, a further increase is expected, with production estimated at up to 5.700 million tons, an increase of 2.71 TP4T over the previous year.<\/p>\n
Exports are also expected to maintain their upward trajectory. The sector projects up to 1.490 million tons exported in 2025, a volume 10% higher than the total of 1.353 million tons shipped in 2024. For 2026, the number could reach 1.550 million tons, with a further increase of 4%.<\/p>\n
Domestic availability of protein is expected to grow by 2.71 TP4T this year, with approximately 4.060 million tons projected for 2025, compared to 3.952 million tons in 2024. For 2026, the expected growth is 2.21 TP4T, reaching 4.150 million tons. Per capita consumption is expected to grow by 2.31 TP4T this year, reaching 19 kilograms in 2025, compared to 18.6 kilograms in 2024. In 2026, per capita consumption is projected to be 2.51 TP4T higher, reaching 19.5 kilograms.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter strong turbulence throughout the year, the sector showed resilience and ended the period registering growth in all production, export and per capita consumption indices for chicken meat, pork and eggs.
