Although they started the last week at higher levels, corn prices fell throughout the period, according to a survey by Cepea.<\/p>\n

According to the Research Center, the weakening of domestic demand explains the declines; some consumers made advance purchases and, as a result, stayed away from spot market negotiations.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, estimates continue to point to a high domestic supply in the 2025\/26 crop season, which has reinforced the pressure on domestic prices.<\/p>\n

On the seller's side, researchers at Cepea state that many are holding back from negotiations, expecting a price rebound in early 2026, based on the possibility of buyers returning after some companies took a break at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

In the countryside, the return of rains to important producing regions brought relief to farmers, who were worried about the impact of the weather on the development of summer crops and on the planting of the second crop.<\/p>\n

In a report released last week, Conab estimated the production of the 2025\/26 Brazilian crop at 138.87 million tons, a slight decrease of 1.5% compared to the previous season, but still the second largest in the Company's historical series, which began in 1976.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
