The agricultural investment modality generated R$234.5 million in November in Mato Grosso do Sul. The amount of R$136.8 million borrowed for agricultural activity represented a growth of 261% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the Central Bank available in the Rural Credit Bulletin of Aprosoja\/MS, released this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Most of the resources, around R$138.4 million, were contracted without the support of official rural credit programs. \u201cThe increase in the volume of credit for investment outside of official programs is mainly related to the limitation of resources and the difficulties in accessing the subsidized lines of the Plano Safra (agricultural plan). Faced with the need to maintain investments, many producers end up resorting to free credit, which offers more agility, but also exposes the borrower to higher interest rates, reflecting a more restrictive and selective credit environment,\u201d explained the economist from Aprosoja\/MS, Mateus Fernandes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Among the planned lines of credit, the Warehouse Construction and Expansion Program (PCA) concentrated approximately R$36.3 million. The ABC\/RenovAgro, Pronaf Investment, and Pronamp programs were also used in November. The figures reflected the producers' strategy to mitigate logistical bottlenecks, reduce dependence on third parties, and strengthen their negotiating power in crop marketing.<\/p>\n
The increase in fundraising for investment loans contrasted with the decline recorded in operating and marketing loans, which, in the annual comparison, showed decreases of 29% and 43%, respectively.<\/p>\n
