The Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) in the Federal District (DF) totaled R$ 1,776.63 million in 2025, an increase of 11.9% compared to 2024, when the indicator totaled R$ 1,587.94 million, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) on November 21. In absolute terms, the increase was R$ 188.69 million in one year.<\/p>\n
During the same period, Brazil's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) increased from R$ 1,267,385.28 million to R$ 1,412,203.57 million, a rise of 11.4%. The performance of the Federal District was slightly above the national average, but did not alter its relative position: the Federal District continues with a 0.13% share of the Brazilian agricultural VBP, remaining among the lowest contributions in the country.<\/p>\n

A comparison of the product rankings between 2024 and 2025 reveals a highly concentrated structure, in which five activities account for the largest share of the district's Gross Production Value (VBP): soybeans, corn, tomatoes, beans, and pork. Among these, grains and animal protein show the greatest dynamism.<\/p>\n
Soybeans remained the main agricultural activity in the Federal District. The Gross Production Value (VBP) of the crop increased from R$$ 596.7 million in 2024 to R$$ 646.0 million in 2025, a growth of 8.3%. The oilseed continues to be a central driver of value creation in the territory.<\/p>\n
Corn showed the most significant movement during the period. The VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) jumped from R$ 302.0 million to R$ 461.7 million, an increase of 52.9%, the largest percentage variation among the main activities. This growth reinforces the role of corn as the basis of agricultural production and a direct link to animal protein systems.<\/p>\n
The VBP (Value of Production) of swine increased from R$ 99.2 million to R$ 125.1 million, a growth of 26.1%. The result indicates a strengthening of the activity within an integrated model with grains, especially corn and soybeans. Also within the animal protein chain, egg production grew, increasing from R$ 82.3 million to R$ 101.5 million, a rise of 23.3%, consolidating itself as an important activity in the district's VBP.<\/p>\n

Tomatoes, the main vegetable in the Federal District, maintained their growth trajectory, with the VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) increasing from R$ 157.4 million to R$ 166.5 million (+5.8%), remaining among the top five activities. Beans, however, showed a significant decline after a year of high value. The VBP fell from R$ 216.4 million in 2024 to R$ 146.7 million in 2025, a decrease of 32.2%, a movement that reordered the ranking but did not remove the crop from the group with the greatest economic weight.<\/p>\n

Despite growth in 2025, the Federal District's share of the national VBP remained stable at 0.13%, showing that the advance occurred in line with the country's growth, without any relative gain in market share.<\/p>\n
The historical series from 2018 to 2025 shows a VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) that grew until 2020 and 2021, underwent a period of stabilization between 2022 and 2024, and resumed growth in 2025. The recent recovery is strongly associated with the performance of corn and the maintenance of soybeans at a high level, indicating more nominal and concentrated growth, sustained by a few supply chains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
