Goi\u00e1s concludes the 2024\/25 harvest with record results in grain production and consistent progress in livestock chains. Data from the Aroeira Platform of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa), the National Supply Company (Conab), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), indicate record production, productivity gains, and strengthened exports. Total grain production in Goi\u00e1s reached 37.3 million tons in the 2024\/25 harvest, the highest volume in the historical series, with a growth of 23.31% compared to the previous cycle.<\/p>\n
The results of the last harvest reflect a set of management and investment measures aimed at strengthening production chains, using technology in the field, and increasing the competitiveness of Goi\u00e1s's agricultural sector, highlights the head of Seapa, Pedro Leonardo Rezende. "The record production, productivity gains, and increased exports show a structured sector with the capacity to grow consistently and sustainably, in addition to demonstrating the quality of Goi\u00e1s's products in international markets," he affirms.<\/p>\n
Agricultural performance<\/strong><\/p>\n Photo: Shutterstock<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The increased production and productivity of the 2024\/25 grain harvest resulted in an absolute record for the soybean harvest, with a production of 20.7 million tons, a growth of 23.01 TP4T compared to the previous cycle and national leadership in productivity. The state average reached 4.2 tons per hectare, an increase of 20.01 TP4T. For the 2025\/26 harvest, the forecast indicates a planted area of 5.1 million hectares.<\/p>\n Corn also showed record performance, with production of 14.2 million tons, a growth of 25.91 TP4T and an average productivity of 7.2 tons per hectare, an increase of 11.31 TP4T. For the 2025\/26 crop, the estimate points to an average productivity of 6.9 tons per hectare, with an area of 2.0 million hectares.<\/p>\n In sorghum, Goi\u00e1s maintained its national leadership, with a production of 1.5 million tons, growth of 18.6%, expansion of 2.6% in planted area and an increase of 15.6% in productivity. For the 2025\/26 harvest, the estimated production is 1.6 million tons, in an area of 438,100 hectares, with an average productivity of 3.9 tons per hectare.<\/p>\n Bean production reached its best result since the 2020\/21 harvest, reaching 289,900 tons, representing a growth of 5.61 TP4T and an average productivity of 2.4 tons per hectare. For the 2025\/26 harvest, the forecast is for a production of 285,200 tons, in an area of 113,400 hectares, with an average productivity of 2.5 tons per hectare.<\/p>\n This diversification movement keeps Goi\u00e1s in the national leadership position in sunflower production and planted area. In the 2024\/25 harvest, production reached 74,200 tons, in an area of 47,000 hectares, with an average productivity of 1.5 tons per hectare. For the 2025\/26 harvest, the forecast is for maintaining these levels, preserving Goi\u00e1s' leadership in oilseed production.<\/p>\n Livestock supply chains<\/strong><\/p>\n In poultry farming, the activity is present in 100% of the municipalities in Goi\u00e1s, with continuous evolution in scale, productivity and quality. Rio Verde stands out with 11.3 million head, occupying the seventh national position, while Itabera\u00ed registers 9.2 million head, in the tenth position in the country.<\/p>\n International trade<\/strong><\/p>\n The performance of Goi\u00e1s's agricultural sector was also reflected in the foreign market. Between January and November 2025, the accumulated value of Goi\u00e1s's agricultural exports reached R$10.4 billion, a growth of 7.61% compared to the same period in 2024. During the same period, the volume exported reached 21.2 million tons, an increase of 14.3% of the total. Goi\u00e1s's agricultural products were sold to 166 countries, with China, the United States, Iran, and Mexico among the main destinations. In 2025, results remained strong in livestock farming, with consistent progress in the state's main productive activities. The Gross Value of Production (VBP) of cattle farming reached R$ 20.8 billion, the highest in the historical series, positioning Goi\u00e1s as the third largest state in the national ranking.
