The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) January update on the global soybean balance for 2025\/26 confirms a comfortable supply scenario in the international market, with positive production revisions in the two main global players: Brazil and the United States. According to Ita\u00fa BBA Agro Consulting, world production was maintained at 426 million tons, but with relevant adjustments in regional distribution.<\/p>\n

In Brazil, the production estimate was raised from 175 to 178 million tons, consolidating the country as the world's largest producer and exporter of the oilseed. This increase reflects both the expansion of planted area, which now reaches 49.1 million hectares, and the maintenance of high average productivity. Brazilian exports were also revised upwards, from 112.5 to 114 million tons, reinforcing the country's leading role in international supply.<\/p>\n

In the United States, although production was adjusted upwards, from 115.8 to 116 million tons, the USDA reduced its export projection by almost 1.6 million tons, to 42.9 million. This move signals a relative loss of competitiveness for American products, in an environment of strong South American competition and high global inventories.<\/p>\n

Argentina, in turn, saw its production slightly reduced to 48.5 million tons, maintaining a lower overall situation.<\/p>\n

Availability for export is high, but inventories remain elevated relative to domestic consumption. China continues to be the main driver of global demand, with imports estimated at 112 million tons, unchanged from the previous report.<\/p>\n

Overall, global ending soybean stocks were adjusted to 124 million tons, maintaining the stock-to-consumption ratio close to 29%, a historically comfortable level. This scenario limits more consistent upward pressures and reinforces the view of a well-supplied market, in which any price movements tend to respond more to climatic or logistical factors than to structural fundamentals of scarcity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
