In its January report, the USDA estimated U.S. corn production at 432.4 million tons, up from the 425.5 million tons projected the previous month. The increase was driven by a record average yield of 11.7 tons per acre. U.S. ending stocks grew 9.81 TP4T, reaching 56.6 million tons, the third-highest volume in the historical series. The agency also revised upwards China's corn production, now estimated at 301.2 million tons, while the country's imports for the 2025\/26 crop year were maintained at 8 million tons. With increased production in the United States, the global supply and demand balance became more even, resulting in an increase in the carryover stock for the 2025\/26 crop year, still below that recorded in the previous season.<\/p>\n
In Brazil, fertilizer purchases for the second crop are progressing at the average rate in states like Mato Grosso, Paran\u00e1, and Mato Grosso do Sul, indicating suitable planting conditions. However, in Goi\u00e1s, S\u00e3o Paulo, and Minas Gerais, the acquisition of inputs remains delayed, creating uncertainty for planting decisions for the 2026 second crop.
