Mato Grosso ends 2025 with a Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) of R$220.4 billion, a result that consolidates the state as the largest agricultural producer in the country. This value represents a growth of 20.21% compared to 2024, when the VBP totaled R$183.4 billion, also increasing Mato Grosso's share of the national total from 14.47% to 15.6% of the national total.<\/p>\n
The evolution of the state's Gross Production Value (VBP) is mainly supported by the performance of the five main production chains, which are registering simultaneous growth and concentrate the largest share of Mato Grosso's agricultural revenue. Soybeans remain the state's main product, growing from R$$ 80.2 billion in 2024 to R$$ 94.6 billion in 2025, reinforcing its position as the largest individual contributor to the state's VBP. Corn, the second largest product, advances from R$$ 35.0 billion to R$$ 48.8 billion, showing one of the most significant absolute variations of the period.<\/p>\n
Beef cattle farming also registered significant growth, increasing from R$ 30.6 billion in 2024 to R$ 38.0 billion in 2025. Cotton maintained a positive trajectory, reaching R$ 24.1 billion, above the R$ 23.2 billion of the previous year. Poultry farming grew from R$ 3.4 billion to R$ 3.6 billion, completing the group of five chains driving the expansion of the state's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production).<\/p>\n
Other relevant segments also show positive variations. Sugarcane rises slightly, from R$ 3.34 billion to R$ 3.45 billion. Pig farming advances from R$ 2.58 billion to R$ 2.80 billion, while egg production grows from R$ 1.42 billion to R$ 1.59 billion. Crops such as beans, rice, and milk maintain values close to those recorded in 2024, with fluctuations of less impact on the aggregate result.<\/p>\n

Mato Grosso jumps from R$122.6 billion in 2018 to R$220.4 billion in 2025, a trajectory marked by the expansion of large-scale crops and the strengthening of livestock chains. In the composition of the Gross Production Value (VBP), agriculture accounts for 79% of the total value in 2025, while livestock represents 21%, a structure that remains practically stable compared to 2024.
