The drop in corn prices, observed until the end of January in practically all regions monitored by Cepea, was interrupted in markets where producers are resisting selling at lower prices.<\/p>\n
The devaluation of the grain is also limited due to the start of the soybean harvest and the consequent decrease in freight costs for corn.<\/p>\n
On the demand side, researchers at Cepea indicate that most buyers are holding back, waiting for a greater supply following fieldwork and, consequently, the possibility of acquiring new lots at lower prices.<\/p>\n
On the external front, in January, corn exports totaled 4.24 million tons, 18% above the same period in 2025, according to Secex. In the accumulated total for the 2024\/25 season (from February 2025 to January 2026), shipments totaled 41.62 million tons, 8% above what was exported in the same period of 2023\/24.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
