For 38 years, farmer Ademir Fontana has repeated a commitment that has become part of his routine in the countryside. Alongside his wife, he pauses the activities on their rural property in Corb\u00e9lia to visit the park that, since 1989, has hosted one of the largest technical events in the global agribusiness sector. For him, the Show Rural Coopavel is much more than just a fair. "The dissemination of technologies and innovations is the basis of this event and is indispensable for producers to be able to produce more, with quality, sustainability, and connected to new trends," he states.<\/p>\n
When he first started attending the event, back when the Show Rural was just a simple field day, soybean productivity on his property was around 30 sacks per hectare. Today, that number reaches 100 sacks. According to Ademir, this evolution is a direct result of continuous access to information and technologies presented over the years. \u201cEvery year I learn about new varieties, cultivars, and practices that make a difference in the day-to-day running of the farm. Much of what I apply I learned here,\u201d he emphasizes.<\/p>\n
The anticipation for the next edition is already part of the producer's personal calendar. Ademir says that February is a month reserved for the event. "I put aside other commitments to come to the Show Rural, see the new products and absorb knowledge that I then apply on the property," he reports.<\/p>\n
A member of the Coopavel cooperative since 1990, he makes a point of sharing his experience with other producers. Ademir recalls that it was at the Show Rural that he learned about innovations such as genetically modified organisms, seed treatment, and new technologies in agricultural pesticides. \u201cIt\u2019s really worth participating. It\u2019s an event that surprises and gives producers real tools to improve in the field,\u201d he emphasizes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
