Brazilian exports to Arab countries started the year on a high note. According to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) compiled by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Brazil earned US$1.985 billion in January from exports to Arab countries, a growth of 10% compared to the same period last year. Imports, on the other hand, fell by 25%.1%, to US$668.9 million.<\/p>\n
Among the countries, the main destination for exports was the United Arab Emirates, with imports of US$600.1 million, up from 110%, followed by Saudi Arabia (US$245.13 million, up from 9%) and Egypt, which imported US$233.5 million, down from 42.3%.<\/p>\n
Conversely, Saudi Arabia was Brazil's main supplier among Arab countries, with shipments totaling US$$ 205.8 million (down 47.6%), followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a total of US$$ 141.6 million (up 497%) and Egypt, with sales to Brazil of US$$ 128.5 million (up 19.8%).<\/p>\n
In terms of products, sugar was the main exported item, followed by corn, chicken meat, iron ore, cattle, crude oil, and frozen beef. The main imported products in January were refined petroleum, nitrogen fertilizers, crude oil, and phosphate fertilizers. The trade flow in the period totaled US$2.6 billion, a decrease of 1.61% compared to January 2025, and the surplus for Brazil grew by 44.41%, to US$1.3 billion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
