The flow of the 2025\/26 harvest through the Northern Arc has received a logistical boost with investments exceeding R$400 million in the BR-364 highway in Rond\u00f4nia. The road corridor connects Vilhena, on the border with Mato Grosso, to the port terminals of Porto Velho and is expected to move around 6.5 million tons of grains by May, according to estimates from Embrapa.<\/p>\n

The 720.5-kilometer stretch is operated by the concessionaire Nova 364 and is considered a strategic axis for regional production, linking logistics corridors that connect states in the North to Maranh\u00e3o. In 2025, resources were allocated to operational processes, acquisition of machinery and equipment, pavement rehabilitation, revitalization of signage, and implementation of 14 operational bases with 24-hour medical and mechanical assistance.<\/p>\n

The investments target a historical problem in the local road network. According to the CNT Highway Survey 2025, from National Confederation of Transport<\/span><\/span>Inadequate road maintenance increases transportation costs in Rond\u00f4nia by 38.1%.<\/p>\n

This year alone, diesel waste and premature fleet wear have generated an estimated loss of R$155.65 million for transporters in the state. \u201cUnlike the invisible cost of inefficiency and potholes, toll revenue is reinvested in improvements, enhancements, and highway maintenance, providing direct positive impacts on the producer's profit margin, reflected in lower fuel consumption, greater logistical predictability, and increased safety,\u201d says Wagner Martins, CEO of Nova 364.<\/p>\n
