According to the president of the S\u00e3o Paulo Poultry Association (APA), \u00c9rico Pozzer, the event has established itself as a strategic space for integrating the entire production chain. "Here we were able to bring together all the links in the production chain to discuss the challenges and opportunities of egg-laying poultry farming over three days of the congress," he highlighted.<\/p>\n
The importance of Brazilian poultry farming goes beyond the production of animal protein. The sector also plays a significant role in global food security and depends on collaboration between producers, science, and public policies to sustain its growth.<\/p>\n
Journalist and former federal deputy Aldo Rebelo highlighted the country's strategic role in supplying food to the world and the need to defend Brazil's interests on the international stage.<\/p>\n
Another point discussed was the production cost scenario. According to Alexandre Mendon\u00e7a de Barros, PhD in applied economics, the high supply of grains in Brazil tends to keep prices close to last year's levels, which favors sectors dependent on feed, such as poultry farming.<\/p>\n
Despite this, the expert warned of geopolitical factors that are already beginning to cause volatility in global agricultural input markets and could influence price formation in the coming months.<\/p>\n
Even in the face of these uncertainties, Brazil is expanding its presence in the international egg trade. According to Ricardo Santin, president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), the country is consolidating an export culture in a sector historically focused on domestic consumption. "We are experiencing an important moment in building an export culture for the egg-laying poultry industry," he stated.<\/p>\n
According to Santin, export growth is positive and consistent, but requires constant attention to the international scenario and the main buyer markets.
