The program included presentations and discussions with researchers from the institution, a national reference in applied research in animal production, addressing topics such as health, biosecurity, production systems, and sustainability \u2014 pillars considered essential for the competitive advancement of the activity.<\/p>\n
One of the main points discussed was waste management and the efficient use of natural resources. According to researcher Airton Kunz, the sector already has different technological routes for waste treatment, focusing on biogas generation, nutrient recovery, and water reuse.<\/p>\n
Rationalizing water use was also highlighted as a priority. The trend is for water to become an increasingly strategic input in animal production, requiring investments in technologies that reduce water intake and increase reuse within farms.<\/p>\n
Another central theme was the proper handling of dead animals on farms. General Manager Everton Krabbe warned of the health risks associated with improper disposal, such as the proliferation of vectors and the spread of pathogens.<\/p>\n
Among the alternatives presented are carcass composting and the use of biodigesters, solutions that contribute to both biosecurity and energy recovery. The recommendation is to ensure rapid removal and proper disposal, avoiding contact with healthy animals.<\/p>\n
Researcher Jalusa Kich highlighted that biosecurity should be treated as a growth strategy for pig farming. Regions with lower production density, such as Mato Grosso, have sanitary advantages that can boost the expansion of the activity in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n
According to the president of Acrismat, Frederico Tannure Filho, the technical mission to Santa Catarina \u2014 recognized as a benchmark in technologically advanced pig farming \u2014 allows direct access to established practices and innovation applied to the field.<\/p>\n
The initiative strengthens the relationship between producers and research centers, promoting the dissemination of technologies and contributing to raising the sanitary and productive standards of pig farming in Mato Grosso.<\/p>\n
