Activities in the second corn crop fields continue to advance across Brazil. According to Conab's crop monitoring data, as of last Saturday (11), 99.9% of the safrinha areas had already been sown. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The index rose from 99.2% recorded last week, falling slightly behind the 100% of the same period in 2025, but in line with the average of the last five years. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
So far, Goi\u00e1s, Piau\u00ed, Tocantins, Maranh\u00e3o, and Mato Grosso have already completed planting activities, followed by Paran\u00e1 and Mato Grosso do Sul (99.8%), Minas Gerais (99.4%), and S\u00e3o Paulo (99%). Of the areas already sown, 1.8% are still in emergence, vegetative development (54.4%), flowering (36.3%), and grain filling (7.4%). \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Conab technicians highlight that recent rains have been beneficial for crops in Mato Grosso, as well as in Paran\u00e1, where the concern is with high temperatures.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In Mato Grosso do Sul, planting is progressing despite heavy rains, while in Goi\u00e1s, hailstorms and strong winds have affected some crops.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the same time, harvesting of the summer crop continues to advance, rising from 51.3% last week to 55.5%. This index is lower than last year's 65.5% and the 58.5% average for the last 5 years. \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
So far, Santa Catarina has harvested 96.5% from the area, followed by Paran\u00e1 (94%), Rio Grande do Sul (92%), S\u00e3o Paulo (90%), Bahia (36%), Minas Gerais (35%) and Goi\u00e1s (6%). Meanwhile, 25.8% of the areas are already maturing, 15.5% are in grain filling, 2.8% are in flowering and 0.4% are still in vegetative development. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Conab technicians also point out that the humidity has been lower, favoring the harvest in Minas Gerais and also helping with grain quality. In Rio Grande do Sul, however, the unstable weather and the prioritization of soybeans have prevented significant progress in the harvest.\u00a0<\/p>\n
PARAN\u00c1 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/h2>\n
The Department of Rural Economy (Deral) of the Paran\u00e1 State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply also released its weekly report detailing weather and cultivation conditions for the state's main crops. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
To date, 11% of the area has already progressed to the fruiting stage, 34% are in flowering, and 55% are in vegetative development, with 85% of the crops classified as being in good condition, 11% in average condition, and 4% in poor condition. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the same time, the summer crop harvest accounts for 96% of area, with the remainder of the crops maturing. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Deral technicians highlight that the harvest of the first crop is practically complete, with results at or above initial expectations in some regions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The second-crop corn is currently in vegetative development, with areas showing germination, flowering, and the beginning of seed filling. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cClimate conditions have been decisive, with recent rains contributing to the partial recovery of crops, although there are irreversible losses in areas affected by prolonged drought. Water stress has favored the incidence of pests, and management has been adjusted according to rainfall. In some situations, areas have been allocated to other winter crops due to planting delays,\u201d the Department assesses.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
