The summer corn harvest is nearing completion, and the planting of the second crop is practically finished. Therefore, industry agents consulted by Cepea are focusing their attention on the hot, dry weather and its potential impact on crop development.<\/p>\n

According to researchers at Cepea, so far, the production of the second crop of 2025\/26 is still estimated to be slightly lower than the 2024\/25 season, but will still be high.<\/p>\n

However, the irregular rainfall in recent days and the forecast of still low volumes, in addition to high temperatures in parts of Goi\u00e1s, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso and Paran\u00e1, are putting producers on alert.<\/p>\n

In the spot market, negotiations involving corn remain limited due to weakened demand; consumers prioritize using existing stocks and only purchase new lots sporadically, according to researchers at Cepea.<\/p>\n

Buyers are also eyeing the good volumes of carryover stocks from the 2024\/25 season and the larger harvest of the 2025\/26 summer crop, and therefore maintain expectations of lower prices in the coming weeks. Many sellers, however, have again limited the volume in the spot market, waiting for a reaction in prices, based on current weather speculation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
