The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Andr\u00e9 de Paula, participated, on Tuesday (28), in a meeting at the headquarters of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA), in Bras\u00edlia (DF), with the president of the entity, Jo\u00e3o Martins. On the occasion, the minister received the ten proposals from the Confederation for the Agricultural and Livestock Plan (PAP) 2026\/2027.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the minister highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue between the federal government and representative entities of the agricultural sector. \u201cI want to mark my time as a minister who sought to understand, engage in dialogue with, and contribute to the strengthening of the sector. This is a permanent, organic, and necessary partnership, and I am available to move forward together,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The president of the Confederation, Jo\u00e3o Martins, emphasized the importance of joint action between the productive sector and the federal government. \u201cThe CNA and Senar have always been open to partnerships for the benefit of rural producers. We need to work together, propose solutions, and seek actions that are truly impactful. This is an important moment, one to leave a mark,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
At the event, the organization's proposals for the 2026\/2027 Harvest Plan were presented. The document was prepared based on regional meetings held with producers, federations, associations, and financial institutions in the country's five regions. This edition adopts a multi-year format, a measure that seeks to increase the rationality, predictability, and planning capacity of Brazilian agricultural policy.<\/p>\n
Among the priority points presented by the CNA are budget predictability, multi-year planning, strengthening the financial health of rural producers, improving debt renegotiation instruments, expanding access to credit, and increasing resources for rural insurance.<\/p>\n
The proposals aim to contribute to the economic sustainability of the sector and to maintaining Brazil's strategic role as one of the world's leading food producers and suppliers.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, representatives and presidents of agricultural federations present at the meeting presented topics considered priorities for the sector, such as securitization, a phytosanitary fund for fruit growing, agricultural defense, sustainability and carbon sequestration, the rice production chain, and the Satellite Deforestation Monitoring Program (Prodes).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
