The Brazilian government has concluded negotiations authorizing the export of eggs and egg products to South Korea, expanding access for the national poultry industry to one of Asia's most important markets. The opening includes products destined for both direct consumption and the food industry, a segment that maintains growing demand for processed ingredients and animal-based proteins.<\/p>\n

This progress comes at a time of intensified trade and health relations between Brazil and South Korea, especially following the presidential mission to the Asian country in February of this year. During that visit, the governments signed memoranda of understanding focused on cooperation in agriculture, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, bio-inputs, innovation, and rural development.<\/p>\n
Beyond the immediate commercial impact, the agreement is seen as strategic for expanding the diversification of markets buying Brazilian animal protein, in an international scenario marked by increasingly stringent sanitary requirements and greater competition among global exporters.<\/p>\n

South Korea is already among the important destinations for Brazilian agribusiness. In 2025, exports from the sector to the country totaled US$2.4 billion, with emphasis on products such as soybean meal, poultry meat, coffee, soybeans, corn, cotton, leather and tobacco.<\/p>\n
The authorization to export eggs and egg products expands the portfolio of Brazilian products allowed to access the South Korean market and may open up opportunities for new business in the poultry supply chain, especially in segments related to the food industry and processed ingredients.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian government believes that strengthening the sanitary dialogue between the two countries was crucial for advancing the negotiations. The agenda conducted during the official mission reinforced technical negotiations in areas considered strategic for expanding bilateral agricultural trade.<\/p>\n
Brazilian agribusiness has opened 602 new markets since the beginning of 2023, a move that is part of the country's strategy to expand destinations for agricultural products and reduce dependence on traditional markets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
