Brazilian pork exports reached 138,300 tons in April 2026, establishing the highest volume ever recorded for the month in the historical series of the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), which began in 1997. The result represents growth of 8.21% compared to April 2025, when shipments totaled 127,800 tons.<\/p>\n

According to researchers from Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics<\/span><\/span> (Cepea), this was the fifth consecutive month of record exports of the protein.<\/p>\n

The performance reflects the strategy adopted by the sector in recent months in response to weakening domestic consumption. With slower domestic demand, supply chain players have been directing a larger volume to the external market in an attempt to reduce the supply available in the country and support prices in the Brazilian market.<\/p>\n

Despite the increase in exports, Cepea points out that shipments represented approximately 26% of national production in April. Even so, pork prices fell in the domestic market.<\/p>\n

In the first four months of 2026, exports totaled 526,400 tons, a volume 14.4% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, according to data from Secex.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
