Brazilian egg exports rebounded in April after two consecutive months of slowdown. This growth was primarily driven by increased purchases from Chile, which recently recorded its first case of avian flu on a commercial farm and boosted its imports of Brazilian eggs.<\/p>\n

Data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), analyzed by Cepea<\/span><\/span>Data shows that Brazil exported 2,310 tons of fresh and processed eggs in April. This volume represents an increase of 24% compared to March of this year, although it remains 47% below the amount recorded in the same period of 2025.<\/p>\n

Shipments of fresh eggs totaled 1,640 tons in the month, an increase of 531 tons compared to March. Processed egg shipments, however, reached approximately 668 tons, a decrease of 161 tons in the same comparison.<\/p>\n

According to Cepea, Chile accounted for 84% of Brazilian exports of fresh eggs in April, registering the highest imported volume in the historical series of Secex.<\/p>\n

Researchers at the Center for Studies believe that this performance reinforces Brazil's role as an international supplier during times of health crises in other countries. "This scenario highlights the excellent role played by Brazil in supplying eggs to countries facing outbreaks of avian influenza," they emphasize.<\/p>\n

Cepea also points out that a similar trend had already been observed in 2025, when shipments to the United States gradually increased in response to the sanitary impacts on US production.<\/p>\n

With its avian influenza-free status in commercial production, Brazil maintains the potential to expand exports to markets affected by the disease.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
