According to Andr\u00e9 Pessoa, managing partner of Agroconsult, the current economic scenario is one of the most challenging in recent years for the agricultural sector. He emphasizes that the combination of high interest rates and greater difficulty in accessing credit has put pressure on investment, operating costs, and farm planning decisions. "We are living in an environment of cruel and unsustainable interest rates," he stated.<\/p>\n
In addition to the financial cost, the sector also faces additional pressure on agricultural inputs. Under normal conditions, the appreciation of the real against the dollar would tend to reduce the cost of imported fertilizers and pesticides. In this cycle, however, geopolitical instability has once again directly interfered with the cost of production.<\/p>\n
