But, before the ball even rolls against Morocco, Mato Grosso already has a significant score off the pitch: the state leads, by a wide margin, in Brazilian corn exports to their opening opponent.

According to data compiled by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), Mato Grosso accounted for 75% of all corn exported by Brazil to Morocco in 2025. Last year, the African country imported 1.81 million tons of Brazilian corn. Of that volume, 1.37 million tons came from Mato Grosso farms.

Sales of corn from Mato Grosso to the Moroccan market totaled approximately US$280 million between January and December 2025, with an average value of US$211 per ton.

And the trade relationship remains strong this year of the World Cup. By the beginning of May, Mato Grosso had already exported 153,000 tons of corn to Morocco, with revenue close to US$33 million.

According to Imea, the corn produced in the state serves different markets and is mainly used in supply chains related to animal feed and food security.

The connection between Mato Grosso and Morocco also extends to beef. In 2025, the state exported 668 tons of beef to the African country, generating approximately US$3 million. During the same period, Brazil shipped 6,658 tons of beef to the Moroccan market, with revenue exceeding US$23 million.

Fertilizers and sugar

In the trade agenda between Brazil and Morocco, other products also feature prominently. Brazilian sugar, for example, had a strong presence in the Moroccan market in 2025. The African country imported 1.48 million tons, in deals totaling approximately US$$ 591.28 million.

Morocco also plays a significant role in supplying fertilizers used by Brazilian agribusiness. Last year, Brazil imported 2.14 million tons of these inputs from the African country, in transactions totaling US$1.16 billion.

Among Brazil's other opponents in the group stage, Scotland does not appear separately in the foreign trade statistics, as the data is consolidated by the United Kingdom. Haiti, in turn, has a relatively small share in Brazil's trade balance.

Check out Brazil's matches in the group stage:

– June 13th (Saturday), at 6 PM – Brazil vs. Morocco

– June 19th (Friday), at 8:30 PM – Brazil vs. Haiti

– June 24th (Wednesday), at 6 PM – Brazil vs. Scotland

THE Bela Cereais works with the best grains on the market in the Central West Region and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

Falta pouco para a Seleção Brasileira entrar em campo na Copa do Mundo.
