In the accumulated period from January to May, total cargo movement reached 28.87 million tons, a result 2.41% higher than the same period last year, which totaled 28.19 million tons. \u201cAll this movement demonstrates that the ports of Paran\u00e1 are highly competitive and generate good results for the operators who work here. Therefore, we continue investing in infrastructure, modernization of systems, and personnel training. Only in this way is it possible to build an increasingly intelligent and efficient logistics system,\u201d emphasizes the CEO of Portos do Paran\u00e1, Luiz Fernando Garcia.<\/p>\n
In terms of exports, the Ports of Paran\u00e1 reached 4.04 million tons in May, approximately 900,000 tons more than in the same period of 2025, a growth of 28.81% of the total. Imports, on the other hand, totaled 2.07 million tons, a volume approximately 140,000 tons lower than that recorded in the previous year.<\/p>\n
Soybeans lead growth<\/strong><\/p>\n The main product driving foreign trade was soybeans. Year-to-date, the commodity shows an increase of 29%.<\/p>\n The Port of Paranagu\u00e1 is responsible for shipping 14.21 TP4T of all soybeans exported by Brazil, mainly destined for markets in Asia and the Middle East.<\/p>\n Soybean meal was the second major highlight of the month. The volume exported increased from 628,300 tons in May 2025 to 796,000 tons in May of this year, an increase of 27%.<\/p>\n The Port of Paranagu\u00e1 is the second largest exporter of soybean meal in Brazil, accounting for 26.51% of national exports recorded in the first five months of the year, according to data from Comex Stat, a federal government system that gathers information on foreign trade, and the Statistics Center of the Ports of Paran\u00e1.<\/p>\n Photo: Claudio Neves\/Ports of Paran\u00e1<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Containers and animal proteins are on the rise.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Containerized cargo exports increased by approximately 30,000 tons, reaching 824,300 tons in May, a growth of 4%.<\/p>\n A large portion of this volume consists of frozen animal proteins. From January to the end of May, approximately 1.5 million tons of meat were shipped to markets such as China, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, and Japan, among other countries.<\/p>\n There was also growth in exports of vegetable oils, with an increase of 53% in May and 40% in the accumulated year. Pulp also registered an increase of 5% in the fifth month of 2026.<\/p>\n Imports<\/strong><\/p>\n Container imports, the second largest segment handled in Paran\u00e1's ports, grew from 582,100 tons to 651,000 tons in May, an increase of 12%.<\/p>\n Fertilizers, the main product unloaded by Paran\u00e1's ports, totaled 825,000 tons in May.
