The soybean market showed little variation in April on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), reflecting the balance between factors exerting pressure and supporting prices. According to data from Ita\u00fa BBA Agro Consulting, ample global supply continued to limit more significant price increases, while the appreciation of soybean oil helped support the market.<\/p>\n

Among the factors that pressured prices were the record Brazilian harvest, coupled with the good initial development of the North American crop. The consistent progress of planting in the United States reduced climate risk premiums and reinforced the perception of greater comfort in the global balance of the oilseed. In addition, more cautious international demand, especially from China, restricted more significant upward movements.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, soybean oil accumulated another month of appreciation. The movement was driven by expectations of strong demand related to the United States' biofuel policy, competition with other vegetable oils, and support from higher oil prices.<\/p>\n

With this scenario, the average price of soybeans on the CBOT ended April at US$ 11.67 per bushel, a result 0.4% lower than that recorded in March.<\/p>\n

In the Brazilian market, prices remained constrained by high supply during the harvest period and by producers' need to sell their products to meet financial obligations due on April 30th. Although export premiums offered some support, especially in the last days of the month, the strengthening of the real against the dollar also contributed to putting pressure on the prices received by producers.<\/p>\n

In Sorriso (MT), the average price was R$ 101.60 per sack in April, registering a slight increase of 0.2% compared to March.<\/p>\n

Even in the face of pressured prices, producers accelerated negotiations throughout the month to bolster cash flow and meet financial obligations. As a result, sales of the Brazilian harvest reached 55% of the volume produced, equivalent to approximately 99 million tons out of a projected total of 180 million tons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
